CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts are being solicited for podium and poster presentations at the 12th Congress of the International Network on Kangaroo Mother Care that will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, on 16 and 17 November 2018 at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogota, COLOMBIA.
 

Abstracts are due by August 15 2018.

The Scientific Committee will evaluate all the abstracts submitted on time and will notify acceptance by 31 August 2018. Among the accepted abstracts (innovative ideas will be one of the criteria for acceptance, some ones will be selected for 15-minute (including 2-3 minutes for questions and answers) podium presentations. The remaining abstracts will be presented as posters (instructions will be issued with the letter of acceptance). Congress participants will vote for the best poster and will assign an award.

Themes for abstract submission:
All abstracts should include the following in 250 words or less, plus the title and the full name and email contact of the primary author.

Policy: site and scope of the policy, individuals and institutions involved, target population, methods used to develop the policy, brief summary of its main point, dissemination and use.

Implementation/practice: site and scope of implementation, including population and institutions, health/community staff involvement, clinical/community units involved, duration of practice being reported, evaluation methods and statistics/parameters, results and conclusions.

Research: background, purpose, research questions/hypotheses, design, essential variables, data collection tools, statistical plan, results, short discussion and conclusions.

Review: problem being studied, search strategies and key words used, type of review (integrative, systematic, bibliometric), evidence grading procedure, results, discussion and conclusions.
